Instructor: Mark W. Gaither
(requires 6 hours including breaks and lunch)

While trying to uphold the sanctity of marriage, many have unwittingly made divorce an unforgivable sin . . . and divorced people unforgiven sinners. Consequently, many divorced men and women feel like second-class citizens of the kingdom and secretly wonder if God—like His church—considers them "damaged goods."

Have we gone too far in our efforts to hold marriages together in a divorce-prone culture? Have we become guilty of venerating the institution of marriage over its original design, like the Pharisees obsessed over the Sabbath? Have we lost sight of God’s original purpose for marriage?

Divorced men and women need healing, beginning with an answer to a fundamental question: What does God really think about marriage, divorce, and remarriage?

People who attend the No More Condemnation seminar will discover:
  • Why the issue of divorce and remarriage has the church in a theological tailspin, and how believers can stop feeling sick.
  • God’s perspective on divorced men and women, and their place in His family.
  • The definition of marriage as established by God and how humanity has changed it—for better or worse.
  • The origins of marriage customs and where they fit in God’s plan for His people.
  • The teachings of Jesus Christ and the Apostle Paul on the nature of divorce.
